Getting Laid-Off

12.13.06

I do believe that I forgot to mention that I was laid-off two weeks ago as my company was purchased and my office closed. So I am on the job hunt, hoping for a better tomorrow as I blitz my resume across the region. I have had plenty of leads and a few interviews, so we’ll see how things go. I’m just trying my best to stay occupied by consistently mining through the job lists at Craigslist and Bostonworks, surfing the internet for good biblical/theological websites, working on the God-centered.com webpage, cleaning up around the apartment, and catching up with old friends. We are steady financially for the time being, but I would appreciate your prayers if you could think of us. I’ve also had a great deal of time to read and think about some important concepts in theology that I normally don’t have a ton of time to think about, so my time has been fruitful.

Good to get the update, man. We will pray for you tonight.

What theological topics have you been tackling?

JD

Thanks Jonathan, I appreciate that.

Some of the topics are the nature of justification/imputation, covenant, and particulary how biblical theology relates to the nature of God. Perhaps some posts will flow out from these.

Any progress on the job front?

Thanks for asking Jonathan. I have interviewed at every placement agency in and around Boston it seems. But I have only interviewed with one actual business that is in Cambridge and I am waiting to hear back. God has been gracious to us to send funds our way such that we can function as normal for the next few months or so. In fact, we’ve even thought of having me take the spring off from work to take classes in Web Development and perhaps get a jump on writing material toward PhD work (even though I am not in a program, nor have I applied any where yet). At least this allows me to search for the job I really want for now. So I guess we’ll see…

sorry to hear about the job loss. but hey, you could start your PhD program at Baptist Bible Seminary? ; )

the closest I’ll be to you this break will be in Worchester, MA. Let me know if you wanna work something out : )

praying for you.

Good times in Portsmouth, buddy. Thanks for meeting in the middle and taking the time to catch up.
