Happy Kalila Day

07.06.05

Saturday, July 2, was my sweety’s birthday. She’s turned 20!!! She is no longer a teenager and it is no longer necessary for me to be her guardian (giggles of course). We enjoyed a beautiful evening in our beloved Beverly. Before I came home from work at 8:00 PM, I stopped at Kappy’s and picked up some Theakston: Old Peculiar brew and a bottle of our favorite wine, Bartenura Muscato. I also picked up the pretty rose you see below. Thus I came home to give these little suprises.

We hung out for a while and then went to the lovely Soma restaurant in downtown Beverly. We had an unbelievable meal. She had a rubbed jerk pork that was to die for. I had a rib-eye with mash and asparugus that was amazing. We shared two white peach martinies that were the best I’d ever had. To top it off, I asked the waiter to bring out a piece of chocolate cake. It had whipped cream and a little rasberry sauce that was perfect.

After that, we headed off with enough time to go see Batman Begins. It was very well done and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Christian Bale’s performance exceeded expectations and we always love the token Morgan Freeman role. There were some lines at the end that Katie Holmes’ character made that simply made no sense. We had no idea what she was trying to communicate. We still couldn’t figure out how Bruce gets to Asia or why he’s there at the start of the movie. As a fan of the cartoon, I enjoyed how they weaved the part of Scarecrow into the overall plot that made it seem plausible. Overall, good flick.

I do love my darling beauty. She looked beautiful that night and her smile melted me all evening.

I love you sweetypie. Happy Birthday!

Yes, a hearty happy birthday to you Kalila! Dave . . . we’ll have to discuss Batman and that Old Peculiar stuff.

Happy Birthday Kalila!!!
Sounds like you both are enjoying married life. As well you should. Still haven’t made it over to Soma yet. We should do that this summer. Dude, do you ever listen to your voice mail. I’ve called like 3 times, no call back. I swear I’m gonna send you a Prod specialist call back form.

Now that just freakin’ made my day! Funny!

Happy Belated Brithday Kalila! Let’s get a date planned! I’ll call you, I will!! We love you guys and thank God for you friendship and fellowship.

Aw, thanks guys!

Kalila! You found your glasses!

oh… and happy birthday ;)

Alas…the picture is a few weeks old, and I remain in a semiblurred state of vision. However, ‘God provided’, and my grandparents are buying me a new pair. Huzzah!
